CHRIS DUNN Wellington, NZ

I work with clay to create images and impressions inspired by New Zealand’s natural and lived environments. By incorporating native plants and local iconography, I consciously root my work in the New Zealand landscape. My designs reflect the energetic, diverse, and ever-changing climate of Wellington, from the movement of the harbour to the quiet of the countryside.

An active member of the ceramics community, my work has been selected for numerous regional, national, and international exhibitions in Australia and Japan. Beyond my studio practice, I have served as a selector and mentor for various pottery societies and was a resident potter in both Wellington and Canberra. I continue to support the development of the craft by leading workshops on pit and barrel-fired ceramic techniques.
