These are beautifully warm and soft possum merino and cashmere scarves. They are light and very snugly, perfect for a winter’s day. If you are searching for a great gift idea this may well tick all the boxes. The yarn used is produced here in New Zealand. Both yarns are lovely light and soft. The bushtail possum was introduced to New Zealand by European settlers and is considered a pest due to the destruction of native flora and fauna. Due to the hollow fibres of possum, it is lightweight and can trap air which means more warmth. Merino sheep are regarded as having some of the finest and softest wool of any sheep. Cashmere is from goats

The scarf is approximately 72 by 10 inches (183 x 25cm) excluding the fringe. The fringe is approximately 3 inches (7cm) long and has been twisted which as well as giving a nice touch to the scarf it also helps protect those warp ends from wear. The scarf has been hand stitched at either end which helps preserve it and another feature to help complete the handwoven look.
