This table lamp has been created from an old carpenter's block plane with components made by English toolmakers J.E Morrison & Sons.

The plane is an impressive 17 and a half inch (45cn) Jointer plane with full ‘tote’ or handle. The Morrison brand is incorporated into the steel cutting blade and there are no visible identifying marks or owner name stamps on the beech wood block.

It’s been cleaned, lightly sanded and hand finished with natural beeswax. Any marks and blemishes resulting from years of use have been retained to give a sense of the history of the tool and those who have used it.
An Edison bulb is supplied with this lamp and it comes with its own written story about the carpenter plane.
