This striking ceramic jug by local potter Harriet Bright features a wax relief pattern. In this process, liquid wax is hand-applied to the clay to "resist" the glaze. As the kiln heats up, the wax vanishes, revealing a beautiful, raw contrast between the textured clay and the smooth glazed finish.
