Kawakawa Stone is the partnership of world renowned carvers Madelyne Gourdin and Nick Spicer Balme.
Their workshop is located by the sea in Wellington, New Zealand, and their award winning sculptures and carvings can be seen in galleries and public spaces across the globe.
Nick feels drawn to carving as a counterbalance to life in the modern world. He fell in love with the process as it makes him feel a stronger connection to his homeland, Aotearoa. As a French Native, Madelyne brings European style to New Zealand stone. She has created a fusion of the two worlds and has never looked back.
All of their jewellery pieces are one of a kind creations carved from genuine New Zealand jade, the unique stone, Pounamu.
