The Kōwhai flower is a beautiful and iconic New Zealand native treasure. It is often paired with the Tui bird as they are almost inseparable. If there is a Kōwhai tree, a Tui will not be far away. The Kōwhai flower is one of the brightest in the family of native New Zealand flowers. For the most part New Zealand flowers are quite reserved yet the Kōwhai sings loudly in its rich yellow jacket and skirt.

Bronze is a copper-based alloy that consists of approximately 88% copper giving the metal a warm gold tone.
