Handcrafted by the team at Luke Jacomb Studio, this stunning cast glass Stitchbird (Hihi) is ready to adorn your wall. Display a single bird for a touch of elegance, or collect a set to create a breathtaking, dynamic flock of birds on your wall.

One of rarest birds in Aotearoa, the Hihi is a medium sized forest dweller endemic to the North Island. Having become extinct on the mainland in the late 19th century, the only naturally surviving population is today found on Te Hauturu-o-Toi in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.

Cast glass with set screw fitting. Can be mounted on any type of wall.

Dimensions (approx)
Length: 150mm
Width: 140mm
Depth: 130mm

When installing a Luke Jacomb cast glass bird please consider the surface - drywall, concrete or wood etc. as each wall will require a different type of anchor.

DRYWALL / GIB: First, securely install a Gib board anchor into the wall. Once the anchor is in place, carefully screw the bird into it. Be mindful not to overtighten, as this can damage the artwork.

MASONRY: Begin by installing a masonry screw anchor into your wall. Once the anchor is secure, carefully screw the bird into it. Be mindful not to overtighten, as this can damage the artwork.

WOOD: Drill a pilot hole that's the same size or slightly smaller than the screw's diameter. Insert the screw to hang the bird, but be careful not to overtighten it, as this can cause damage.
