“My artwork for 2020 is inspired by self-reflection and the ongoing search for happiness. 2020 has been a year none of us will forget due to the global effects of COVID19. 

Be Kind: I’ve heard acts of kindness spread faster than a virus.  Whether it’s someone not saying hello to you in the street or a bad conversation, the aim of this piece is to focus on trying not to take someone’s challenging situation personally…”it’s not your shit, be kind”.  The Tui represents the negative chatter that goes on in your head if you think you’ve done something wrong, the rose with thorns to represent the hurt. The phone is the interaction between you and the person and the wise owl (Morepork) to remind us to Be Kind.”
