This stunning ceramic vase by local artist Chris Dunn is a masterclass in elemental design. Handcrafted using the ancient method of pit firing, the oldest known technique for hardening clay. Each piece is nestled in an open pit with organic materials that ignite and "paint" the surface. The resulting smoky shadows and earthy marbling are a direct record of the fire's movement, making every vase entirely one of a kind.

Because this traditional process leaves the clay porous and matte, this piece is intended for dried flower arrangements or to be enjoyed as a standalone sculptural work. It is a beautiful, tactile connection to the raw origins of pottery.
