This porcelain Dip Bowl with a blue swirl has been crafted by local artist Michael Robinson. Michael creates finely thrown tableware characterised with dips and curves on the wheel on seemingly impossible angles of 15 or even 25 degrees to create playful, subtly uneven shapes.

This fun bowl has a curved base which makes it nice to hold in your hand.

Made from fine white porcelain, and a variety of glazes and slips that he mixes himself, the inside of the dip bowl has a flat smooth glaze and the outside has a crackle glaze finish. 

Each item goes off, and then back on, the wheel during the various stages. Some only 4 times, while others up to 12 depending on how many steps in the process to get each item ‘just right’.
