Kawakawa is a pretty coastal shrub with heart shaped long stemmed green leaves and an edible fruit with a distinctive tropical taste and contrasting peppery seeds.  

The heart shaped leaves remind us of the preciousness of ourselves, the land and our native ecosystems. Each leaf is hand cut from a silver plate, filed, drilled, sanded, stamped and attached with gently curved sterling silver wire and jump rings.  The central coloured leaf is in a red transparent perspex.
