Donna is a painter based in Brooklyn, Wellington. Inspired by both realist and impressionist styles of art including other local landscape artists such as Micheal McCormack. Her work focuses on landscapes, native birds, creatures and insects. Donna studied painting at college and life drawing, illustration and graphic design at Victoria University of Wellington, graduating with a Bachelor of Design. Her watercolour work often utilises a mixed media approach with the addition of gouache, painting mediums or grounds for visual texture. Donna is passionate about capturing a sense of stillness and openness in her coastal landscapes and detailed texture in her subjects.
