Carved by artist Amanda Thompson (Nga Puhi), these beautiful round bone earrings feature the intricate Hammerhead design. The pattern is first laser-cut onto the bone and is then skilfully enhanced using ink to darken and define the engraved areas, resulting in a striking, detailed finish.

In Māori culture, the hammerhead shark (mangōpare) symbolises strength, courage, tenacity, and leadership. It represents a fighting spirit, determination, and resilience, as the shark must constantly swim to survive.
