The Southern Rata is an iconic bright red flowering native tree found in both Islands. It has disappeared from some areas as it is a favourite food of the possum. It's classic spear-shaped bright green leaves with distinctive fine veination are a reminder of the preciousness of our native forest heritage. These pieces spring from a love of these beautiful trees. 

This beautiful Rata leaf pendant by Duncan MacKay has been hand cut from copper, filed, drilled, sanded, and stamped. Then a jump ring and stg silver chain is attached.
