Hand thrown by New Zealand artist Debbie Pointon, this stunning porcelain bowl is distinguished by a beautifully carved Flame Spirit on one side. This dynamic, sculpted detail brings a sense of energy and mythic beauty to the delicate form.

“My pieces are wheel-thrown using porcelain clay. Each one is thrown, turned, and hand-carved before being bisque fired. The final stage is a sagger firing with charcoal to 1300∘C. The final results are uniquely influenced by the piece’s position in the kiln and the specific firing technique I employ”.
