This 18mm x14mm ring with tapered band to 4mm is inspired by traditional Māori painted scroll patterns, primarily featuring flowing, symmetrical designs in red, black, and white usually found on rafters and ridgepoles of wharenui (meeting houses). Inspired by nature, these patterns depict tribal genealogy (whakapapa), stories, and the natural world, with common motifs including the koru (fern frond) and kape (crescent).
